Why Permission Marketing Is the Future of Online Advertising

Measuring Website Success
Did you know you can actually measure how successful your website is in generating business? With a correctly set up Google Analytics account you can identify your profitable areas of your online business and drive traffic to those areas.
In today's online space a lot of money is being thrown around to compete in a now very competitive market. However we seem to have forgotten the good old days of measuring whether our spending budgets are actually generating any revenue.
Remember those things called Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)? and Return on Investment (ROI)? Maybe it's because the online space has changed so dramatically that many marketing managers don't have the knowledge or resources to apply these key terms.
Here comes Google Analytics...
Everyone should have a Google Analytics account. Period. Its been around for ages but not everyone seems to be aware of what it does or how it can add value to your online business.
Your Analytics account provides you with a vast amount of information in regards to your website such as Traffic Volume, Visitor Demographics, Pages Viewed, what devices visitors are using and the most important of all... Goals.
What's a Goal then?
You may have heard words like Conversion or Call to Action thrown around in web lingo. In a nutshell, when a customer reaches your website, they need to do something.
If every customer walks in to your shop just to browse... how are you making any money?
These Conversions or Calls to Action can be anything from an email enquiry, subscribing to an email database or the most valuable... making an online purchase. In Google Analytics we can set this up as Goals.
So now when a customer visits your website we can accurately measure where they are coming from, what they are doing and in the process generate figures to identify the successful areas of your business.
How do I use these Goals?
It's simple really... We can create them in you Google Analytics account and then when you navigate through your monthly statistics you can see whether your customers have completed any goals for that area.
This is very important for things like email marketing or promotions. When you perform some marketing task like sending out an email, you can accurately measure the conversion rate of that campaign for something like making an online booking. You can even compare that specific conversion rate against the website as a whole.
With tools like this we can bring back measuring success and in turn give you a better benchmark in creating a successful online business.
